| Memoirs of Beijing Natural History Museum is published to introduce the latest research achievement, which will change its name as Natural Science and Museum in 2005. The magazine Nature is sponsored in collaboration with China Association of Natural Science Museums and China Association of Wildlife Protection. Besides, some thesis volumes and scientific popularization readings are published. |

| Beijing Museum of Natural History grew out of the preparation department of National Central Museum of Natural History founded in 1951. |
| 1962 |
| Beijing Museum of Natural History was formally named in 1962. |
| 1979 |
| In 1979, the museum initiated the Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums that is playing more and more important role in the museum field today. |

| Thereafter, Memoirs of Beijing Natural History Museum and Nature started publication in 1980. |
